I know what you mean there my friend. I straight up just don't know what I'm really trying to do in a project, most of the time. I sometimes get inspiration hearing some other bad ass tune from other producers, which gives me some ideas for a track. Other than that I'm like you for the most part. Listening to other music is what I'd suggest.
