As im working on my latest track im realizing some great thoughts when it comes to soundscapes and approaching music as maybe a composer would for a movie. Particularly using motifs, leitmotifs, and ostinatos to convey different parts of your music, such as environment, characters, actions, or anything of the sort that of which can be described in a musical sense by these elements.
My newest track has a little bit of a story to it so i find using these musical elements to be very useful when it comes to conveying what's going on. A lot of movies use this where say, a theme when a certain character comes on plays every time they enter. Very useful to tell the audience when something is important.
