Agree with Merle, that synth sounds like the one in "Flight to Rio" (Al Di Meola, can't remember the name of the synth player). Lazarus and I were trying to make that sound once, but we failed. :D

what's a scale? lol j/k. The progression in the middle kind of helps - bassline plays the support for something like Eb7, Db7, Eb7, Cm7, Eb7, Fm7, Eb7, E7. That E7 (a bvii chord) is an awesome V substitute and allows you to expand your melodic options. My upper triads in some parts are all just weird and I'd have to have Frigolito help me make sense of them lol
