Stan reflects grimly on his life before NASA. He grew up in an impoverished neighborhood and family; it was only through his immense brain and willpower that he was able to eventually join NASA. It is, and always has been, about escape. He tells Ben this when he asks what is on his mind, and adds that he has no intention of returning to the earth. He knows that a deadly earthquake will strike their destination planet around the time they arrive. Ben, a longtime friend of Stan's, continually attempts to discourage him from this, but he still does not tell Amy.

The monstrous bassline here comes from an Arturia Microbrute, and those are Ableton drums. I wrote this particular drum pattern with Stan in mind, and I deliberately used it again in the title track of this album.
