It starts with a violent force acting on every object in the known universe, in all directions at once. The jolt splits even the fabric of time and space. Chaos breaks loose, entropy devouring chunks of the universe whole, wrecking havoc. It is a massively traumatic experience. Things cool down for a while afterward, but the realm continues to collapse. The corrumitizer particles within the realm that keep it stable have all decayed, and there is nothing to be done. Finally the realm collapses and spews its shards into every realm that has a concave inter-travel relationship. That is probably how a realm dies.
