I love the main pluck synth that begins on the beat. Leads tend to extend, and have a wider sustain and flow from one note to the next. Plucks are choppy and help structure with more notes in a bar. My advice is to use a short choppy lead and a more outstanding pluck that makes your hook sound very sweet.

Also, Trance music will often use plucks for arpeggio melodies too, it's pretty interesting. If you have not already, please give Trance music a listen :)
