There was dancing, music, free candy, costumes and beautiful young men and young women. There also was a pit of fire—from which there was peace admist the chaos of laughter, flashing lights and the cool wind chill in the large, bamboo-covered backyard. I hear what you mean... I am in the process of perfecting a type of ambiance composed of dry sounds right now.. I wasn't aiming for distance or atmosphere with this one, but that is definitely something I need to work out—layers. Thanks for the feedback!
...i think it could use a bit more ambiance...try splitting off the main synth or whatever you have, set up a delay reverb thing, muffle it with a slope, highpass it and set a stereoenhancer all the way with oct to almost the far left, lower the volume and have the main track sidechain so its in the background...maybe a really subtle chorus or something....i think that would make it feel a bit more close but distant at the same time in the background w/ that ambiance
