In this song, I attempted to diverge from the norm of electronic music in 4/4. I was specifically inspired from the jazz song Take Five by Dave Brubeck. Hope you enjoy.
Okay, making it out of the box it's always a sure shot for me to like something! You did that when venturing off the 4/4 BPM. On top of that, you had an specific influence, from another genre and managed to work a way into your own choosed style, so, your line of thought and execution is really sharp, here, dude! ;D Congrats for that, that's real producing!
Now, the track itself: Sorry, but I always have a hard time giving crit to a less than 2 minute long track, It feels incomplete, to me DDD; Do you plan on working it up into a full tune? Also, maybe I'm not the best to have a say in trap, but, in this short example, the bass feels so right. and the flute voice got me. It's good! A very solid start
Thanks! and u can be, trust me. it just takes a little practice, and experience with the tools to make it all sound good! we could collab sometime as well
Hey, you took my advice on the crashes! It's sounding a lot more cohesive now. The next step is going to be getting the reverb under control since that's adding a lot of higher frequency noise that can sound a bit like a hollow hiss. Unfortunately, there isn't an easy solution to this. It's mostly fiddling with the amount, decay, damping, and effects going into and coming out of the reverb.
ok thanks! and thanks for the advice, there were so many spammed comments yesterday that I just deleted them all, but i did still have your advice in mind
Also start keeping the mix in mind. If the signal is too loud, the limiter will have to cut it off at a certain volume. This is called clipping, and it can seriously affect the quality of your sound. You'll know you're clipping when the red light comes on on the centroid.
