In this song, I attempted to diverge from the norm of electronic music in 4/4. I was specifically inspired from the jazz song Take Five by Dave Brubeck. Hope you enjoy.

  • tbh I should remake this

  • deviate.

    hmmm

that'd be a good name for an album

  • Take/five is better than take five

  • Oh man this is actually really nice! Sick work!

  • Thanks!

  • Goddamn! You took trap inspiration from a jazz song? That's different! Dope stuff

  • This is Hot! I'll be waiting on the full version.

  • Okay, making it out of the box it's always a sure shot for me to like something! You did that when venturing off the 4/4 BPM. On top of that, you had an specific influence, from another genre and managed to work a way into your own choosed style, so, your line of thought and execution is really sharp, here, dude! ;D Congrats for that, that's real producing!

    • Thanks for all the support! and no, its not done, and i am going to make it into a full track. :)

    • Now, the track itself: Sorry, but I always have a hard time giving crit to a less than 2 minute long track, It feels incomplete, to me DDD; Do you plan on working it up into a full tune? Also, maybe I'm not the best to have a say in trap, but, in this short example, the bass feels so right. and the flute voice got me. It's good! A very solid start

  • Sick dude! I wish I was good at composing

    • Thanks! and u can be, trust me. it just takes a little practice, and experience with the tools to make it all sound good! we could collab sometime as well

  • Hey, you took my advice on the crashes! It's sounding a lot more cohesive now. The next step is going to be getting the reverb under control since that's adding a lot of higher frequency noise that can sound a bit like a hollow hiss. Unfortunately, there isn't an easy solution to this. It's mostly fiddling with the amount, decay, damping, and effects going into and coming out of the reverb.

    • ok thanks! and thanks for the advice, there were so many spammed comments yesterday that I just deleted them all, but i did still have your advice in mind

    • Also start keeping the mix in mind. If the signal is too loud, the limiter will have to cut it off at a certain volume. This is called clipping, and it can seriously affect the quality of your sound. You'll know you're clipping when the red light comes on on the centroid.
