It does get a bit repetitive. One thing I would recommend is looking into the Synths Audiotool has like the Pulverisateur, Space and Heisenberg. They're quite easy to use once you get the hang of them, and creating riffs on them is easy since they function as giant piano rolls you can change the sound of :)
