the type of phonk i make is a phonk that rarely lets anything breathe

It's OK when the master is distorted in some genres, but this is a bit too loud. It's difficult to discern the melody, due to the kicks and the bass being that distorted and loud. It's also fairly painful. I'd personally balance the volume of all the elements more, eq stuff so that each of the elements has more room to breathe. This track isn't bad, it just needs some treatment.
