Challenge start: April 5th

Deadline: June 5th

Track length: minimum 2 minutes

...

Prompt: You are a famous DJ in the 2000s and are going on world tour to play EDM tunes to crowds at large festivals. You want to provide the people with a transcendental, euphoric and dreamy experience. You want people to feel the catchy melodies and people to get lost in the music that they are jumping to.

...

Genres: Inspired by Trance music, Happy Hardcore and other genres that defined Y2K dance music.

Music examples of the sound I had in mind: Danny L Harle, Virtual Self, ATB - 9PM, Safri Duo - Played-A-Live, Lil Texas & Noiseflow - Noise Tempo, Gigi D'Agostino - L'Amour Toujours, Sash!, S3RL - Rave Angel, Maple - Proper Sqeaky Tune. Simply, your favourite melodic rave/hardcore/Trance tunes.

...

I'd be really happy if you joined me in making this happen.

Other rules:

No copyrighted samples. I'd want this to go on other platforms.

  • T^T time to work outside my comfort zone. glad I have a few EDM midi samples i made

  • Look my guy I know there’s a prompt and lemme just say I try to stay on prompt and it never works.

Probably good practice but I’m just gonna full send it

    • It doesn't have to be perfect.

    • Look my guy, I'd actually prefer this to be in the lane I made the challenge for. It's a challenge after all.

  • Is it ok if the submission is a remix/remake of one of my own tracks?

  • i know its not house or trance but since its k i n d a around the same time, would smth old school dnb be allowed?

    • what aureolin wyvern suggests works

    • you could try to produce breakbeat hardcore since it uses drum break samples while still technically being a genre of hardcore

    • I'd prefer house/trance/hardcore inspired music. I may make another challenge for dnb later.

  • This is just an example track. You don't have to remix this in order to join. You can leave a link to the track in the comments right here.

    Happy music making.

  • if we do use a different DAW, can we dm?

    • Yes. DM me through discord.
