Over the past year, I've experimented with time signatures and how they can be manipulated to force innovation in songs. I've also experimented with mixing traditionally more ambient noises within high-paced songs. Fractal Dance is a song meant to exemplify a sense of mystique, a high-energy confusion, like a wisp in a bottle. Fractal Dance's intention is to break convention. For that reason, this is the first song where I've tried to add vocals of my own, hopefully it sounds ok :) I've been glad to see that the songs I've made this year have brought enjoyment to the people of audiotool and I hope that this piece is just as pleasing. I wish all others participating in ATD21 good luck; I'm excited to see what this special little community can produce. Thank you for listening, and long live audiotool.
Yeah. There's a lot to say about this track. It's actually incredible how consistently the judges rated this track due to the sheer amount of intriguing complexity and inviting ideas. It doesn't get boring for a second and frankly I think the amount of effort here is incredible for someone who spent a year working to achieve this kind of feeling. It's both chaotic and natural feeling, and personally I believe it's one of the stronger displays of innovation on Audiotool.
Absolutely wonderful work here and for anyone reading this, this track absolutely deserves its placement. Having said that ARC, I'd like to see what happens if you dedicated the next year to learning how to mix, because to be totally transparent; the mixing here is absolutely ear-grating and unpleasant, especially when the vocals come in. I think if you polished your sound and worked toward balancing everything more as a whole you'd almost be a shoe-in for top 3 or higher next year.
Holy fuck bro you've become amazing with your style. This sounds so sick. The sounds are immaculate. Also time signature seems to change which is tricky to do in AT so respect for that. My guesses would be 6/8, and 7/8? I don't think I heard any others besides maybe just 4/4 but I could be very wrong.
Epic I got it half right! Well then again, props to having multiple time signatures in one song. That's legit tricky to do in AT because of the lack of being able to automate the time signature.
