Many moons ago I filled page upon page of @Inavon 's feed putting a fave on each of his "Noise Pluck" samples. I've used them for the "rhythm guitar" in this. I've made the chords as they'd be played on a guitar, and separated each "string" by 1/128 beat. Best played very loud through speakers I think. I made the picture using Silk (link is only visible to registered users)
Thanks ATHeat. The 'rhythm guitar' chords were a bit of a pain to do, chopping Inavon's noise plucks up and extending the middles of them to get them the right lengths, and deciding which would be upstrokes or downstrokes. The percs took a fair amount of time as well, though i was lazy on the last 1/3, (bar 65 onwards) and just looped the bit of a pattern I'd done. I'll probably re-do those at some point to put a bit of variation in.
Thanks Mark. I do like a bit of Frank from time to time. The Vai in title refers to Steve Vai - awesome guitarist, the Tal is a nod to "Aerial Tal" by Kate Bush (on album Aerial)
Awesome!!!! This came out really cool! that trick with the plucks really works, gives the chords a real sound. Great job with the drums too. I love the details with the timings. :) You must be a zappa fan.
Thanks ssagg, I'm still making progress on this. I've got the "leady git" line practically finished now. The Guitar chordy type bits (on the other channel) need finishing (after the part that's in 5/4 time) and the drums/percs are to sort out. Republish 3 was say 2/3 finished and I'm now about 3/4 finished. I just republish occasionally to let a non-AT friend hear it. I don't get much time on here so I'm pretty slow, but It will get finished. Thanks again, Iain.
