Had a beautiful experience with Paper Trail and this one. I was wandering in the cold countryside... first rays of sunshine blurred by a light fog, caressing a patchwork of green and white grass, last peaches of the season frozing, centenary oaks above my head, some goats peacefully grazing grass, your sounds melting with few morning birdsongs. Thank you
le guin wrote that "the artist deals with what cannot be said in words". yours are some gorgeously fluid words and i'm honored that something i've made has drawn them out of you. i feel that the most natural way to respond to art is not in literal meaning/understanding, but in more art. so i am grateful for these words as a response to my response to the world. at which point response becomes participation and we are reminded that we're alive.
I hope this makes some sense, words are too weak to translate it. I wish I could share with you how deep this feeling enters your guts, your bones, your mind. I can only express my gratitude to you for the unique beauty you create and share
I just really love the longing expressed in this end of the album. Harmonic and melodic tension, but gentle. Paradoxically, being. Wanting to be everywhe and at the same time not wanting to be anywhere, or somewhere completely different. Knowing that the result would ruin the feeling and the moment. The end to a dream leaving you unsatisfied when the chase of it was what one truly wanted to experience.
Your music is the kind that I can't play and give immediate feedback on,, mainly bc at least for me, it's the type that accompanies one's life. I'll throw something like this on at 2am on a drive back home... or while I'm sitting in my car waiting in a drive through of chick fi la or something totally zoned out after a long day of work
just know that these projects are timeless and thank you for what you do, m8
really appreciate this <3 im so happy ive been lucky enough to touch so many people’s lives. your music is special for me too, i have many saved on my phone that i put on when i need light for a few minutes. thank you for what you do as well
thank you - i hope you dig the album and best of luck with the essay! really hope the music is helpful :)
also basinski wasn't a conscious influence but i totally hear it! a lot of the concepts here are related to brian eno's tape loops (where different instruments loop at different rates and never quite line up) but some of my sound design ended up a little closer to the whole basinski sound world thing
