audiotool has no vst support, its effects are extremely outdated AND there aren't enough effects to begin with. To get a certain sound, you have to literally build your own effects, which takes a very long time, makes the draft lag, and can end up making you lose sight of your original vision.
but isnt that what makes audiotool so special tho? breaking through those limits to create sounds you probs didnt think was possible to do on here? fl has lots of vsts and tools but its just not the daw for me cause even with all those provided, i just couldn't get into the daw as a whole
but audiotool's really different tho, those outdated effects and minimal effects can genuinely do wonders the more you experiment and learn how to manipulate the mess out of em
and i agree with phero, this daw's the prime example of a beginner's daw and by GOD the opportunities with it is endless and it just.. really flippin sucks for many peeps here that either lost that mojo or just couldn't FIND that mojo ends up leaving
its an understandable choice but man... once you're in that zone and honing everything that audiotool offers you that's only limited by the daw's processing power and its limiting effects, its to the point where
i used audiotool for 5y, never made any breakthroughs, went on ableton and made the best music i've ever made and then started to miss the audiotool ui
In general, I very much like that it's "limiting" (IMO)
My reason behind that claim is that you have the tools to experiment around and create replicas of the key factors that make FL way more "upgraded", like sound design, creating and sharing your own "plugins", melodies, effects, etc., With you gaining knowledge musically, I believe you can make AT limitless with examples like
@Client
and
@cleb
Audiotool has turned into a Soundcloud rip-off at this point (it has been confirmed by AT itself: ://www.audiotool.com/board/news/stem_upload_on_audiotool )
I don't even see where the profit is coming from, it's not like you can monetize off of audiotool. In my opinion, it's okay to use synths using other DAWs simulating the support of third-party plugins here in AT too, but if you came here to upload the entire track made somewhere else then just publish them on other streaming platforms, audiotool is not that well known.
(edit) I forgot to mention that I don't see the problem of people uploading short clips from other DAWs SOMETIMES.
My biggest fear was that it'll just become another streaming platform. It would probably be profitable, if you were an asshole and abandoned the original vision. I will judge, not gonna lie. But since this is where AT is headed anyway and since I don't see stems as inherently bad... Just why did we go from uploading a piano part made on Ableton to entire tracks? Or it all just being arranged in audiotool. You can just use Ableton for the entire process then. AT has no advantages there.
