:yeh it is interesting. I think often we are constrained by our own prejudice and bigotry 'set' at the time of our experience,(age and naivety)! it's important to remember that this 'set' can be demolished at will if you wish! oh man, I hope I don't come across as patronizing!!! I'm just saying what I think! hehe.. I'm goin bed lol. night! :)
@olaf
: I understand. Thanks for taking the second listen :). I often think that it is appropriate sometimes to force the listener to work to enjoy the music. It's something I picked up when I was forced to understand some really abstract music. But the question is interesting - who is responsible for enjoyment? The artist or the listener? ;) - my philosophy background at work....
oh! I'd love to sit in a bar somewhere and discuss this stuff n get wasted at the same time with you guys,be great! hehe, ya never know, could happen! :) :)
I KEEP GETTING EDITED! i put stuff in parenthesis and it disappears all the time hehe, I get miss understood! lol! I put........ I don't even have a favourite colour! hehe :)
I'm a mix of 80's, big band, bop, classical, cool jazz, jazz rock fusion LOL. I don't even know what the hell they call half of it. But Yafee's right, take what you want from others and learn from the rest :)
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! yeh it's all good, to be honest i'm not much for labels!( in fact I've never had a favourite colour or anything), I just think a good tune is a good tune, a good thing is a good thing! ya dig? fosho! :)
These guys were rebelling against the organized big band at the time as too sweet. they wanted more noise, but good noise. Monk is like a techno minimalist in his playing - percussion, harmony and melody.
