Ben and Stan land on the planet to conduct their observations, while Amy orbits the planet in the command module. Stan climbs to the top of a hill to set up the equipment, and they collect some data. Ben realizes the earthquake is imminent and desperately urges Stan one last time to flee the planet with him. Stan remains on the hill as the earthquake ravages the landscape around him. Ben loses sight of him as he leaves in the ship in horror. He remembers what Stan confided in him, and thinks that Stan would not have wanted to leave this life any other way.

I am very proud of this. The beginning is, in my opinion, my best melodic work, and the earthquake section is inspired by Death Grips' song, "Powers That B".
