CONTEXT: I was recently in a musical performance at my school that featured songs from the 60s, and one of them was "Somebody To Love" by Jefferson Airplane. I woke up with a slap house remix of this song playing in my head, and I HAD to make this reality to send to the other cast members haha, so yesterday I worked on this throughout the school day and got it completed. I was so proud of how it came out that I felt like publishing it on here. I may or may not make more remixes of some of the other songs in the future, we'll see.
Thank you for the compliment and all the suggestions!
I was kinda wondering if I made the siren riser too loud in the buildup, glad someone confirmed that for me.
As for the drop, I tried my best to make brass stabs out of the preset I found, those are supposed to be brass stabs and not reese bass lol I don’t remember ever putting reese in the drop. But I'm quite glad to hear that a brass stab preset has been made, I'll definitely check yours out at some point and see if I can use it!
I added more of a transition into the second half of the drop, as well as a low siren riser to the second half of the drop. I'm not sure yet if I like this better or the original simpler setup better, but I'll publish it to see what people think.
We have GOT to get you a new laptop! Think of all the possibilities with greater processing!! I love this. You're doing amazing at developing your sounds, and you still stay true to your very awesome style! I love it! Keep up the fantastic work :) <3
AAH!!! Thank you so much!!! This comment made my night :D
I actually did get a new laptop (a Macbook) specifically for music production recently, it's what I’ve been using more often these days. I still use other people's presets, but I am trying to mix the sounds better and I'm glad it seeems to be evident!
