Exact! There are tracks in which the clipping only occurs in the central band (500-2kHz) and that way you only compress that band and do not subtract dynamics to the other frequency bands. Each band compresses only what it needs.
I think the ducking might be a little to strong on the high notes. The melody synth could use just a little something to give it a little more of an organic feeling, maybe just a touch of modulation, or a bit of a lowpass filter? Otherwise I like this!
Oh also, sine the melody anticipates the next chord, you might want to throw some passing chords in there? Or even just a different voicing on the last stab of the chord.
