This is the first time I've used a 13/8 time signature on a track. That said, this is a hybrid between 4/4 and 13/8. As for the process of creating this, I started with the chords and from there I let the chords carry throughout the song with some variation. This is made with only headphones, so not sure how it sounds on speakers.
