  • Damn this was last year

  • this sounds pretty nice. i agree with most of what heisten said, that kick is begging for some more high end, i'll also second the need for some sidechain on the saws, and i wish that snare was a bit more fat. try adding some compression, that can work absolute wonders! i'm not a compression expert but here's a nice tutorial that i found helpful:

    • Ohh will watch right now, i also did not know there was compression on here, really great to know now!

    • one more thing, the drums sound alright, but i think they would sound a lot better if they were more humanized and less robotic sounding. you're this close to a great groove, but the mechanized feel of the drums is pretty off-putting

  • I would definitely give those drums some high end and sidechain the saws to the kick. Also I would take the reverb off because flash reverb doesn't really sound that good. I would start using next soon

    • ok will do, right now just added some new stuff to the track, i really dont know how this app works if its going to crash my old draft

    • i can't listen atm since i have no headphones with me, but i can tell you that stereodetune/chorus and flanger can help warm up flash reverb to make it sound less tinny :)

  • Really good first work in at though

  • it's pretty damn good. you seem to have a good understanding of how to work the heis. everything I've looked at can be taken down to preference. drums could be a bit louder with another snare punching in on the down beat (maybe a snap sample to keep it smooth).

really the only thing I think would help a lot is assigning more drum samples to the machiniste and making a note track for it.

you're off to the fucking races, though. this is tight.

    • Thank you! Will put your feedback on the track for sure!
