      im just not interested in learning the new multibandcompressor. will take 20 min, but i use ableton

      Now i havent looked inside the draft, but could it be that he has added a multiband preset on his master without adjusting the knobs to fit the specific sound design in this track? If so it would be an easy fix just turning the highpass/mid filter to a more respectable setting.
