I'm not really gonna try to get into this much, but I felt like I really had to adress this. I don't know what it is with this site and trap music, but some of you guys seem to hate it. I don't know why you guys hate it, but you guys definently don't have to listen to it. Hey, I don't like some of the EDM work on here but I don't shit on it. So, I don't know, whatever you guys do please don't blow up my feed with constant hate on JP Dojo or whatever trap music. No one is asking you to listen to it at all, and if you guys are upset I charted, there's plenty of tracks that charted above me as well, and there will ALWAYS be tracks that chart above me.
Additional note: There are a variety of trap music, some of which consist of 808 and edm elements, so I don't really understand why people dislike generic trap on this site
I like it as a stylistic device, not everywhere. A lot of the people here see it as a refuge from the soulless overproduced, commercial pop musoc from the radio. When trap music follows them here, they feel betrayed in a way. Although that still isn't a reason to go around insulting people. I think helpful critiscism is way better. Help people at least develope their own style.
Here is another reason: Trap producers on AT have shown to be very easy to make fun of. They are easy to provoke, easy to bait and just kinda dumb, due to many of them having the mental capacity of a three year old. Not saying that you are. Just saying in general. But yeah. Making fun of Trap kids is easy.
@Lil $h1th34d
it is because of the increadible amount of edgelords that think they're gonna be the next lil pump or whatever. Also the new music section is useless because of a certain flood of that genre of yours. So on principal I agree that there is no reason to hate, but overexposure and trap kids throwing two samples together are a problem.
Good to see some people seeing reason. It is one thing to not enjoy something because of personal taste, another to just go insulting people. About that JP Dojo Track, I actually liked it. But again, people want diversity. I am not saying it takes less skill to make really great, original trap music, but it does have a lower barrier to entry than other genres. Same thing goes for many other genres though. House is just a 4/4 beat with sweep samples, white noise and a saw loop. Point is idc.
Trap takes work and they shit on it like “the people that use these beats only rap about fucking bitches, we're superior! This sucks automatically.” You don’t see EDM on the charts like you see trap on the charts, especially billboard, they could give a shit about EDM. They both take talent and they both deserve credibility no matter the culture (trap culture is dope though.)
On the real though, including me, we work hard on the shit. EDM people clown us when they make upbeat dubstep. There shouldn’t be an argument over this. They’re completely different genres and EDM people should criticize their own genres.
oh shit another kind of trap i think people are g w, if you really want to use samples, is the kind basically you get a sample, chop and screw it, rearrange its melody, basically make the sample your own. you could also sample one specific part of a melody and use the maschinste to kinda use it to make your own melody
From what I can tell, it seems to be that people are getting pissed about the trap beats w only a sample playing for a melody w some kicks, claps and snares slapped on. Like Im sure you understand why cause like w that process a beat takes like 30 min max yknow? And I guess w those min effort beats charting shows a message like "if your trash, dont practice and get better and hone your shit, just keep on doing the bare minimum and youll be successful"
but like fr man i can still see where your frustration is coming from like yall are trying to do you but you just keep getting shit on and thats also not ok at all
nah but for alot of these kids, myself included (you too prolly), like i get it too. i mean its your craft and people are constantly shitting on it, and even when you try to ignore it they just bash, but the message it sends isnt about ALL trap/hip-hop VS edm. its really about the trap that only relies on samples for a melody vs. the stuff on this site that isnt solely dependent on samples
Niggas really do be heated when a trap song makes the charts, never understood why though but I ignore that shit. It seems a bit childish to get angry over people who make a certain genre of music on a "free" musical software website.
