Yes I know you don't really care for classifications and it can be formulaic. Basically its just: Intro/buildup, drop then slow buildup, The release, and outro (More info here: (link is only visible to registered users) ). Take that how you will, that is how I classify trance, although my songs have been a bit stereotypical in my eyes.
I don't know how to really do trance. Not a huge fan of how formulaic trance can be anyway. It's similar to how I feel about dubstep and dnb. Sometimes they all start acting the same way, so I just do stuff and if you can classify it, feel free :)
That intro scared me with the lead and I love the anxiety you put into your tracks. Its fine after the very beginning. Have you ever considered or done a trance track?
