Aw fuck yeah! If you're in to synthpop I'd recommend S.P.O.C.K but you might've already heard of them but their song Never trust a Klingon is such a banger (link is only visible to registered users)
I wish I was more into synthpop, but I do like the effects on your vocals! do you have any basic tips on utilizing the ATDAW tool set for making effective vocal edits and/or ensuring effective vocal sample use/placement?
Awesome! thank you very much for taking the time to offer your advice! I agree with most of what you said, although it would be nice to see AT get better in terms of what you feel it is lacking. I'm sure being a good producer means being versatile in many different softwares, for many different reasons, but I'd love to be able to go all the way with Audiotool one day. C'est la vie!
I learned the definition of sibilance today. Thanks for that :)
My tip is not to use Audiotool. Audiotool works well for beats and backing tracks, but for wave and vocal editing, it's not very good. I never use probe, it's more for really basic recordings and edits.
I normally use lots of things like compressor vsts, character eqs, distortions. Plus I suck so I need to comp from about 20 takes. Doing things like moving word timing around, automating volumes to reduce sibilance, recording/stacking harmonies and doubles.
