This is essentially supposed to be something like a film score, inspired by the film "A Space Odyssey". Not actual music (for the most part). I imagine the beginning of the music (the part that sounds kind of peaceful) is an alien spaceship picking somebody up from Earth. It sounds nice and relaxing, almost like a siren song. It calms down the person until they're in the ship, and that's when the louder, dissonant part starts. From there, it's supposed to read like a series of poking and prodding from the aliens.
