If you're reading this, feel free to drop some constructive criticism so I can get better. Hell, even if you just wanna roast some part you don't like I'm ok with it too!
Lyrics:
I wanna be seen
Solitude is silent
Not the same as serene
--------------
I wanna be free
Solitude is silent
And silent is peace
----------------------------------------------
Wanted to try something new and deliver a story with this song. We often see the glamour associated with fame but not the lack of privacy and stress it can bring.
-----------------------------------------------
The song starts off with the artist expressing that he wants to be seen. Being alone is quiet but he doesn't feel that constitutes serenity. Soon the artist finds fame which is represented by the news anchors commenting on it. This is that mainstream type of fame.
----
However, the fame brings the paparazzi and lack of privacy represented by the constant clicking of cameras. Exploding is repeated because that is how all the attention is making the artist feel. This is also reflected in the music since the chord progression becomes minor and the bass remains deep and droning.
----
The artist then laments that he wants to be free, that solitude may be silent but silent is also peace. The lament is accentuated by the distorted solo vocalizing. Real Kanye type shit.
----
Finally, the chords switch back to major as the artist gains a deeper understanding of fame and what it means.
------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first time integrating vocals to this level so there is a lot to be desired. I am releasing this now because I know I'll get stuck in a rabbit hole trying to make this perfect, which it will never be. The best I can do is move on and keep getting better. Might come back to this later.
P.S. I don't claim this is a personal story, I haven't dealt with fame but thought it would be a nice concept to explore.
