I've released a slower version anyway. 2 entries in a contest is always better than 1. Since this is my only track the only thing I could do was enter twice at 2 different speeds. I think I like it better a little slower actually. But I'll probably change my mind repeatedly about that over the next few days.
Thanks Onyx. I used Magix. It has the effects built into it and the track grid isn't as user friendly. There are more possibilities here I think. I'm really enjoying playing around with all the different tools. The variety of sound you can get is quite impressive.
Thanks DS. I just wanted to get it as good as I could since it's my only track and I figured I might as well enter it into the contest and since the deadline is Friday I can't make another one.
I've lowered the mid in the bass as JonJon suggested and he was right. It sounds much better. I also adjusted balance on the melody as Arche suggested and moved it back and forth in the fx parts as I thought that made them stand out more. I think it sounds better and I'm almost ready to enter this in the club contest. Maybe I'll have beginners luck. Let me know what you think before I submit it. Thanks for listening and advice you might have.
Not a bad start. What's been said so far is great advice. I personally don't have much more to add other than keep producing. Keep making stuff and you'll find yourself growing both musically and as a person. This hobby can be immensely rewarding.
