phase modulation/frequency modulation synthesizers are very good for emulating stringed instruments. I learned this while using the multi engine on my KORG Minilogue:xd.

The multi engine is a VPM (variable phase modulation) oscillator. It creates its sounds by modulating one oscillator's frequency amplitude with another. The Heisenberg has four of those modules.

If you go to the heisenberg and modulate oscillator A with oscillator b (make sure they're both the default waveform) you can make something that sounds roughly like the low end from a bass guitar.
