Stan wakes up when he hears a strange noise. He realizes the washers that produce the oxygen they breath are in danger of exploding. He sets off an alarm, waking the others. It is only after Amy makes a heroic spacewalk, and there are several more close calls that the crew can relax. Nobody can sleep after that, and the only sound in the ship is everybody's slow, deliberate breathing.
