I know this challenge has been over for a long time, but I really wanted to make a remix of this track the moment I heard it, so I did it anyway. No one can stop me.
These vocals kinda spoke to me in a different way, and so I really wanted to convey the feelings that I got through this rather mellow, melancholy, unique drop. It's quite different from what I usually do (minus the high pitch edm arp and a couple other presets I overuse XD). I was originally planning to do a powerful drop like I normally try to go for, but this time, my actions led me in a different direction to try this softer drop style, and I ended up liking it a lot, I thought it fit the sad vibes of the vocals well. It almost reminded me of how it felt to work on synthwave (speaking of, I should try that genre again soon, it's hella fun).
I definitely recommend headphones for this one.
*For anyone who's curious, I specifically remember being inspired by the drop in Billie Eilish's song NDA when I made this track. I wanted a soft drop that had that sad, emotional vibe, while still having that impact from the bass and the smoothness of the drop. The emotion you feel from it play a huge role in making a soft drop such as this so impactful.
The chords do seem reminiscent to something Zimmer would make. The way you made the bass, also reminds me of his kind of technique.
Apart from that I really love the drop that is awesome. The cut from the vocals into the bass and kick. You really nailed that soft drop. The Vocal chops are so sick as well good job brooo
WAIT, REALLY? HANS ZIMMER?! DUUUUUUDE you don't know how much that made my night to open up to, I love his work so to be compared to him is just... monumental. Thank you ;-;
Right? It sounded a bit synthwavy to me but also EDM-ish, so I couldn't make up my mind, thanks for your suggestion.
And to answer your question, idk XD I just let myself ramble and say what I want to say in order to make sure people know what I'd like them to know. Plus, I know some people (including myself) like a decent enough description to read and enjoy, it adds character to the track sometimes or it just helps to make things clear that may not be clear beforehand. Makes it interesting
I'm stuck with a little problem here about the drop. I put a compressor on one of the basses so that it stops the clipping with the threshold, but in doing so, it made the drop a bit less intense than it was before. It still kinda works, it is supposed to be a soft drop, but it still doesn't sit right with me. Should I keep trying to mess with it or leave it as it is?
