This is something a little more upbeat than my last couple of tracks. I went to a little extra trouble on the drums for this one at the behest of my buddy Mark, and I appreciate that advice. Since I am not a genius on the Beatboxes, I sequenced one-shots in the Machiniste - a kick, couple of snares and hats and other percussion. I have had trouble with leveling some of my sounds, so please provide comments and criticism. I can take it, because I want to learn! It's called City Lights, but let me know what you think of as you listen. Thank you for stopping by!
This sounds NICE!! The pic looks cool, maybe that's what one of our cities in space would look like. But really I hate city lights for real, when your far out in the country, the stars in the sky look so amazing that words cant really describe it. I really like the Machiniste... you did a great job with that beat.
dronealpha - Wow - Charles Bukowski. Now I'm going to have to start reading some of his stuff. I'm sure there could be much inspiration there. I appreciate your kind words, my friend :)
i concur wholeheartedly w/ yafee? that pitch trick's a really nice and sort of unexpected touch and helps raise this one above the crowd. (not to mention the sweet melody and crisply executed beat trax) the first thing to come mind was bukowski's old publishing house (due to the title, right) but i did have the feel of 1980's into 2010's but so perfectly updated to be reminiscent without being kitsch nostalgia. i dig it fauko.
