This is my first time recording my guitar and pubbing a rock track. Huge shoutout @Sub4sax for helping me mix this. I would love to hear some advice on how to make my guitar sound fuller and cleaner and your guy's thoughts on the track!

    Quantized samples

  • Glad i could help, great track!

  • this is a good start! but the bass is verrry muddy and too loud, and the guitars need to be a lot more up-front and maybe a bit brighter. 1k hz is where a lot of the energy from a guitar comes from so i'd boost that a bit as well

also, if you want a bigger guitar sound, record your rhythm guitar twice and pan each take hard left and right. the subtle differences between the panned recordings will give the illusion of wide stereo guitars

    • Yeah I am going to try recording a guitar and pitching it down in the future to make a bass for future tracks instead of using a preset in the future. I will give the panning trick a shot!

  • Can I make a video about this? I'd love to remix and do all the tiny detail work that makes a rock track sound huge so that everyone can see how it works!

also, thank you for using the drum template. PS: there might be some new drum sets coming out soon ;)

    • Oh of course! I have the quantized versions of the samples if you need it as well, when I first made these samples I did not know what quantized was so they are entirely live recorded guitars with me trying super hard to stay on beat

    • This would be so much more worth a subscription than this shit from Netflix

  • @naswalt would you be able to give feedback on the guitar mixing as well any future changes I can make for a better mix?

  • @Carrion Haven would love to hear feedback from you as I tried copying as much as I understood from your tracks here
