it's just getting old, y'know? everyone using the same copyrighted samples making the same beat over and over and over... I'm going to start asking for help from other artists in the EDM genre, cuz Trap needs more originality.

This is just something I threw together today out of frustration.
trap can be a great genre. if you put enough work into a track, and incorporate different aspects of instruments,tempos,basses,etc that are different than the standard 1/16 high hats and the thin kicks with an average thin trap snare, some amazing tracks can be made. but most of the genre is just copy paste, which is sad cause the more and more i listen to trap, the more and more if feel like the genre is getting stale.
And that's trap in a nutshell, not really focus on complex sounds, just a plain beat to rap on. Trap was meant for lyricism. Which a lot of black people really have taken up on.
and you damn right it's the new pop of this current era. it's sad that most of the facade is filled with fuckery but it's better that people learn to see through that to truly see how african americans drive culture than to have that shit snatched without credit.
@qulan. (swirrrrly)
there's plenty of artist just breaking through and switching the formula. you just have to keep an eye out for it. repetition comes w/ trends. also its good you're going for dif genres. broaden your horizons lil bro
anyway, with that being said and back to todays time. no that is not "trap" ore hip hop in a nutshell. beats don't always have to be simple and multiple producers like 40, wondagurl, eestbound, etc. have shown that you can make more complex instrumentals and still have them be mainstream. both parts, producing AND rapping/singing/whatever are equally important.
