It's when frequencies are too loud that they start becoming distorted and affect other frequencies. If something too loud, it will give off distortion or mess with the mix of other elements of a track.

also pulvs can be used for sub, just keep in mind it won't be just sub.

it will clip no matter what octave. you can't hear a sub that low anyways so it might as well not be there

Umm... run the track through quantum and don't use the limiter on the master output. Minor mastering issues can be fixed actually just using eq. Mixing actually sounds p good tbh.
