To help us understand our world, we define things to measure and calculate different values. We define new units, occasionally named after the inventor of said units or a discoverer of what the units are for. We define equations to find relationships between things. We define constants to help balance out the units in equations and calibrate equations to make them more accurate. We define rulesets to describe the conditionality of certain occurrences and relationships. God didn't give us a world and the ability to describe it just so we can sit around and let things remain the way they currently are, He gave us a world for us to explore and the tools we need to explore even the most intangible aspects of it.
