this kinda rubs me the wrong way- other people's culture shouldn't be your joke. i know you're young and you may not know the implications and repercussions, but stuff like this is pretty frowned upon and for good reason. there's a long history of anti-asian propaganda and hate crimes that i don't think you want to be a part of.

you speak truth brotha, and you are completely right, music is very deeply tied to culture, and as you say inseparable. What's wrong with taking ones cultural music, and basing it to create a different type, I don't exactly know, but what i do know is how to make music. thanks for your understanding Nico! (P.S. you are very right about how creators of this kind of music would react, most would say FU and just leave it at that, resulting n a report, which then goes to a ban. Which is right)

in reality it can be quite complicated. music is so deeply tied into- and inseparable from- culture and heritage and religion and all this heavy stuff that requires respect and a careful hand. when humor with an obvious straw man type thing is mixed in, the conversation can get quite shallow, which i think can do a disservice to the deep matters at hand. this is all just to say that i trust you to make choices about this for yourself, and i’d prefer to have a conversation than mask it in humor.

with those videos i've also seen floating around it can seem simple &one-sided, as if those who are offended have no reason to be. but it’s important to think about how what you see fits a specific narrative; ie that once one “ethnic” person gives permission, it’s fine to use their cultural artifacts in any way (which has two fallacies; first that the experience of one person is the same as the multitude of experiences of a culture, second that culture is to be used rather than participated in).
