i work a lot with money at my job and we get deliveries from the Fed reserve for our safe.
at the beginning and end of my shift, i count and audit the safe's balance.
when we get deliveries or prep pickups by the armored cars, we have a small section of the safe that we keep those bills in.
I was counting the safe at the end of my shift on the 29th and a tube of nickels slipped out of my hands and landed right onto the key to the small holding box. the key fell (1/2)
onto the floor with a loud *ting*, i look at the key and its literally in half. im now on the floor looking under a 3ton safe for half a key like im some dungeon crawler. after 10 mins i give up trying to find the half of the key, so i go into damage control mode and use a back up key we have to finish the safe audit.
the other half of the key was still lodged into the key hole. :pain:
i fish it out with some pliers, and just tape the two halves of keys together.
