Should I add a bass or should I keep it like this and what do I need to fix. Tell me your thoughts.

  • I think it could possibly use some layers with some reverb and phasers to really give it that underwater sound. Maybe compression and slight reverb on snare, sidechain kick to bass. Low pass bass and high pass the hats. Sounds good though.

  • I agree with most things mentioned below. I also suggest fidling around with synths to add ur own elements to a track

  • Certainly needs more elements in there, things about the mixing have already been said, but also, the sample and the kick already have plenty of bass frequencies there. You'd need to highpass the sample and I think it would be better to change that EQ you have going into the master output, because it adds a strange resonant frequency to the kick/808. You have 2 layered kicks at the same time, which often causes the aforementioned phase cancellation. Either carve out space for one of the...

    • Same here

    • couldn't have said it better myself

    • Also, the sample has a lot of low-end. I'd EQ or sidechain the sample with the kicks, or highpass the sample.

  • Your percussion needs mixing. Usually kicks need low by pass filter and high hats need high by pass filter. You can use an eq to do that. You can put a bass that is side chained with the kick. I recommend and 808 bass. Percussion having slight velocity changes is good also.

  • sounds good little bit of mixing tho
