Well...at least i managed to get this off my chest, if i ever get told that making minimal is TOO easy, i'd just roll my eyes.
Making this track wasn't easy and i still feel its lacking something, but then again, im making Minimal Techno with only a drum machine and since im not using any effects except for Compression and Graphical EQ, its to be expected for the song to sound flat or incomplete...
For one, i feel its not Techy enough, but i think i said it best in my last track "4-nut Wrench"
To me, genres and such, while they help us understand how a particualr style is made, should only be thought of as foundations to which we make our songs...
That being said, i DO plan on continuing this "double dot" series of minimal techno using only drum machines, even if i fail at doing so i get to learn.
I see it as near impossible to become good at what you want to do without there being pitfalls and mistakes....their bound to happen, and its a good thing, mistakes help us learn and evolve in what we did both wrong and right to improve.
Also, this is very nice practice to learn how to make better, more groove-oriented drum lines and such...
thanks abstract, glad you like it and yes, it was made with only the beatbox 8, its has more sounds than the beatbox 9, but sounds raspy and mechanical compared to the Bbox 9 (which has a deeper, warmer tone) which i think is great for my kind of techno.
Im not using effects in this track but the next one i make like will feature effects, since the beatbox 8 can get crazy good with them.
well, not exactly...im taking 2 classes this summer and might need a job to help ease the money in my home...besides, i wanna earn my musical equipment :D
i will, although now im working on an weird ambient song...will take a while to make since i have some plans for saturday, monday, wednesday, friday and sunday respectively...plus my summer classes start soon so ill be looking for any opening in my schedule to finish it ( -_-)
