i think this turned out pretty fucking accurate. i literally just used the actual audio as a reference, and most of this was done by ear. please gimme feedback !
views is when anyone, including yourself, clicks comments, assets, remixes, favs, albums, co-authors, or plays, so if someone clicks around it increases the views like crazy. so it's different than plays is my point
Different beats require different levels for your sounds because a lot of the 808s that come in packs already are compressed/limited so it might be more useful to use a saturation to change the color of the 808 rather than just compress it even more.
I would first analyze what's happening to the frequencies and chart out the different peaks and the different frequencies of your 808 without the distortion, and compare it to the one that has distortion on it.
It drowns out the 808s and you can't really hear them anymore. And since it's played an octave higher, you can hear it a lot wells. However, the 808 doesn't have the base, and it isn't providing the low-end and the beat. So you must provide the low-end in the beat and cut through the mix. The distortion is changing the shape of the 808s and when you take the 808 shape and add distortion, the shape changes.
