I know the month isn't over yet but I'm forbidden from starting any new projects until I finish an existing one. As with last time there will be context for almost all of these in the comments. Enjoy!

  • I should mention, 1/9 "shoes" was actually started on the 7th and finished on the 9th, so I didn't really make three whole song ideas in one day - more like 2 and a quarter

  • Loving your stuff man

  • Republished

louder because I hate your eardrums

  • how do you write riffs so consistently i'm never able to come up with shit

    • yet

      working on it

    • it helps that I don't need to learn to play them

  • 0:00 - 1/1 "factory" - made to mark the end of my first true all nighters. Wanted something slower and industrial for the Ragdoll album.

    1:11 - 1/8 "morale" - no comment

1:53 - 1/9 "shoes" - played by me, for once. Tried to do something Deftones-y but ended up just playing power chords with an extra octave. Oh well.

3:15 - 1/9-2 "street sweepers, loved to death / NITRO" - originally made for the Ragdoll album. It will now be a virux track for the upcoming album.

    • 10:25 - 1/23-2 'bassic' - wanted to make something where the main riff was played on the bass before I completely forgot what I was doing.

11:21 - 1/24 'dynamo' - honestly has the best chance of becoming a real track. I just wanted to make something catchy.

    • 7:20 - 1/19 'bullets' - metalcore attempt inspired by a random riff battle vid I saw that day.

7:53 - 1/21 'bombs' - slightly inspired by SOAD's B.Y.O.B. Not a huge fan of this one. The intro drum solo was inspired by one of Mario Duplantier's drum solo vids.

8:38 - 1/22 'lost' - tried to make melodic thrash.

9:33 - 1/23 '1hr' - 1 hour challenge. I did not realize most of these ideas were made in 1-2 hours, so this was nothing new.

    • 4:34 - 1/9-3 "extras" - wow, January 9th was a super productive day. This was inspired by a track with the same name on the Guilty Gear soundtrack.

5:19 - 1/11 "loose" - tried to do something Knocked Loose style. failed slightly.

6:00 - 1/14 "power" - the first of the demos made for my self titled album. This was mostly a tone and mixing test.

      6:13 - 1/16 "south" - inspired by Slayer's "South of Heaven"

6:43 - 1/18 "odd" - my experiment with 12/8ths time. It was hard and janky.
