If you literally rootnote it would sound better.
Try rootnoting, then changing some of the notes by 1 or 2 octaves up, then maybe add some different notes that harmonize but don't sound weird. I don't have any music theory knowledge really so I can't explain it better unless I show you in a draft

The energy for the melody is there, the energy for the drums are there, now it jus needs a better 808 pattern
