First time making bass house, would like some crit. I sampled the growls since I don't know how to make them yet and I didn't really pay too much attention to mixing. I have started branching out my music, tell me what you guys think! - Syn
Nice concept! I feel like the bass fills don't exactly fit, but they can easily replaced by making and automating your own. I'd emphasise more vowel movement on that drop growl, because right now it's missing that movement that it normally has. I'd try to separate the respective synths into their respective bands, the growls shouldn't have bass frequencies, the sub should be lowpassed, the percussion should stay on the high end. I'd OTT your drums to make them pop more
Also, try out parallel compression like I taught you. It will really help you get a clean mix when it comes to EDM genres like this. The brass samples can work imo, you just have to make sure you don't play any basses or growls when the brass hits hit so that they retain an impact on the song, and not get overshadowed by everything else. But overall, nice work with that catchy melody!
Ayy this is some solid stuff! I especially love the percussion a ton.
When making EDM, and especially house, it's super important to have some layers. When mastering, remember to make that 50-60 hz cut on those synths so you can fit that phaaat sub underneath, cuz that's what bass house is all about lol. Subs also sound FABULOUS with real wide stereo widths.
This is craaazy for being your first time man. This track has tons of potential!
so the build seems a litle messy. u can fix this by automating some high pass and low passes on certain elements. the drop is a little messy too. i feel like u have too many percussion sounds going on. the brass has too much reverb and it clutters up the whole mix. some basses seem a it out of place. but this idea is really cool bro! id love to see the final version
yeah the biggest thing i hear is the bass and the brass frequencies overlapping like at

. in general, this is really neat. if you end up finishing this, think it would go well with an intro that has a more roundish sound design with some hints and foreshadowing of what is to come to contrast the saw type waveforms in this. keep creatively pushing your boundaries!
I don't think I put any reverb on the brass so maybe playing with the resonance on the machinste? And what exactly should I high and low pass? The bass?
one other thing. i like the stop and go idea of the drop. u could emphasize this by cutting out the downlifter on the 'stop' part. then add reverb swells to draw back in the song. i think that could add some cool movement.
