also to note - Vault Boy has apparently already done this sucessfully, so I have to see how his version works before I go any further.
I think it is needless to say that I only have a VERY basic idea of what mid/side EQ actually is. I did a small amount of research and came up with this design. Please leave feedback, I would love to improve it.

so, upon conversing with some non-AT users who actually use this stuff, I had overcomplicated things by splitting the channels into left and right. This new version just handles the stereo image as well as the mono signal. Feedback is still welcome.
