The things we don’t see aren’t just distant lights beyond the reach of our eyes, like stars far away from us. Some might say they’re “lights” that, while invisible to our eyes, aren’t hidden from our hearts. But when I think of the heart, I don’t think of cheesy sentimentality, fake hugs, empty smiles, or sweet words that carry no meaning. To me, it’s about real feelings: genuine friendship, true love, or simply that warm moment when you pass a stranger on the street, exchange a smile, and that’s it. It’s a pure, honest connection, free from the petty rivalries of school or the shallow intellectual games of university.
We often believe we know so much, yet in reality, we understand so little. How much of the universe can we truly grasp? Science, which is constantly evolving, tells us that 95% of it remains hidden. It’s made up of things we can’t see, touch, or fully comprehend. We only have hints and theories; there’s so much more beyond what our eyes or even our technology can reach.
And how often do we judge what’s different simply because it makes us uncomfortable? Prejudices and preconceived notions only divide us. But if we take a moment to just breathe, we might realize that in that single, simple breath, we are all the same.
This is dedicated to all those affected by the devastating hurricanes in the Caribbean, the relentless floods in Spain, Nigeria, and the Dominican Republic, and the communities enduring heavy rains in Alaska. May the strength and resilience of these communities guide relief efforts and inspire global solidarity, not only in the face of natural disasters but in our everyday lives.
