Do people even use these boards? I figured I might ask a couple of questions just to start some activity:

1.Why do you like techno? 2. Do you have a favorite subgenre / regional scene of techno? 3. What techno track are you the most proud of (that you've produced on AT)?

My answers: 1. I like techno because it can make for good background music. I listening to minimal or dub techno while I study. I also like techno because it's more underground and experimental than other genres of electronic music.

2. My favorite regional style has to be the early Detroit techno sound, a.k.a. the first techno ever made. It's got a bit more melody and funk than other styles and it's also very playful and clubby. Techno drew inspirations from house music as well as funk and other dance styles, and I think these influences have not been as present in newer techno styles.

3. I am proud of my track, Aluminium . It's a step away from the earlier 'in your face' acid tracks that I made. I like that it has a good fluid progression and calming atmosphere.
