This community is not what I thought it was... The mere fact there is a huge discussion based on opinion and genre preferences saddens me. Music is music. The history of sampling dates back to mostly BLACK producers not having access to instruments, so they made use of the equipment they had so they could tell their stories. Now these thinly veiled "Trap Kids" comments point to a gentrification of music. On AT if its not EDM or House - theres an aloof air, Those trap kids needing samples to produce music... You should NEVER have to prove PROOF that trap beats can be made without samples. It's a nice beat though, stay making the music that speaks to you and communicate it with the world.
I never thought about it that way...
First off, "On AT if its not EDM or House - theres an aloof air" Neek and Dove are some of the most prominent artists on this site and they make pretty much nothing but trap, they are generally regarded in the community as some of the most prolific and talented music makers on the site...Secondly, "so they made use of the equipment they had so they could tell their stories" Audiotool has all the equipment that you could possibly need to create a track without using loops that others created, regardless of copyright issues, im not even going to begin to delve into that. And you are completely right that nobody should have to prove that you can make music without samples, but apparently it is needed because if you view this board https://www.audiotool.com/board/news/sample_upload there are HUNDREDS of artists that are stating that they can't make music without samples! so proof is OBVIOUSLY NEEDED, you are definitely right about this community not being what you thought it was...
NEEK: https://www.audiotool.com/user/neekzio/ DOVE: https://www.audiotool.com/user/dove/ just so you can see for yourself how widely regarded these artists are as some of the most talented people on this site
o wait nevermind, most of the artists who were complaining about not being able to make music without samples were deleted, for using copyrighted material
