This is the first track I've worked on and I'm looking to create a moaning synthy sound that resembles a cello(?)

It's so perfect and I love it but cannot, for the life of me, recreate anything similar. Anyone have any ideas! :)) would love to know thank you!

If you mean the sound that starts at 0:36, I'd use Space for it. The spectrum sounds more complex than what you could achieve with the usual wave forms. Play with the Spectrum parameters until you get the right timbre. The sound seems to be made of two notes a third apart, slow amplitude envelope, maybe a touch of modulation. The original sound seems to come from a sample of manipulated strings.
I got the strings and metal clank sort of down(if that's what you're referencing at 0:36)
The moany-esque synths that come in at the beginning that seem to fade in and out and overlay with each other is what I'm trying to replicate since they lay the base for a really creepy soundscape.
I tried using Space with a preset for sawtooth waves(nice saws i think) and messing with that but didn't get as close as I'd hoped. Gonna keep trying tho in the meantime tho and I'll take your advice and try to improve upon the metal clank!
