So i just needed a device that would generate a random signal to (micro)control the volume, pitch, cutoff of the snare on my track so it would sound organic. thing is,that, as far as i know there isn't one. (if it turns out there is i'll delete this). so i made one, for now it can only do random volume, but ii'll get arounf to make it do other stuff eventually.
without further a do, behold! my DYI RN(S)G contraption!
...
turns out i dont know how to load a picture.
well, all you need is:
-pulv
-curve
-compressor with sidechaining capabilities
-matrix
preparation:
set the pulv to max gain, and dont touch anything else for now, then connect the matrix to the pulv signal input, and set it to random, in the matrix's track you must set all the notes from C2 to C5 (c2,c#2,d2... a#4,b4,c5) so it arpegiates them randomly, then add the curve to the pulv output, in the curve, you must set the gain to max, and a high or low pass so that it is a straight diagonal line going from the c2 freq to the c5 freq, this way, the random notes will have diferent intesities, then connect the output to the compressor sidechain input, and then, connect a synth or drum loop the input input of the compressor. in the compressor, lower the treshold completly and then the ratio not so much, then set the attack and release all the way down. send the compressor output to your centroid, and there you go, random signal generator.
further instruction:
the synth or dumloop should be having random volumes, you can change the narrowness of the intensity RN(S)G by changing the waveform of the first pulv, a squearer one will give you a more narrow and controlled difference between the highest and lowest intensities, while a sine will go balls to the wall.
srry for bad english, me not from first world.
edit: i'll link the project where i developed it so you can check it out, and maybe improve it.

Wow - that's a cool idea!
I guess you can simplify that setup by using the Pulvs filter modulation which can be set to random. Might save you the Curve.
I created a preset "Compressor modulator" to give you an idea of what I mean.
(You can integrate pictures by copying them into the clipboard and then pasting them into your description.)
thanks, i didn't know you could do that with the pulv, i'll see what i can do.
and about the pictures, thanks for that too, next time i have a crazy idea it will be easier explained.
I was just trying to problem solve this for the new ARC live drum set!
